“Be the change you wish to see in this world.”
Gandhi
Since I was a child, I have felt a strong loving force within and around me. I can remember as far back as a kindergartner having this knowing of being called to help others heal.
After college, I ignored this calling and thought I should “get a normal job” Yep, that lasted about 3 days. I was sitting in front of a computer in downtown Seattle, looking at spreadsheets and thought, “if I continue to do this, my soul will die.”
So I quite my corporate job and began my journey as a healing practitioner by training as a massage therapist in 2001. I specialized in deep tissue and sports massage but soon realized massage wasn’t that effective for chronic pain and tension patterns. When I got introduced to the Bowenwork technique, I was skeptical. Then I had a Bowen session and my life was forever changed. Once I started learning Bowen, I asked my massage clients to let me try Bowenwork on them and I was astounded at how quickly and effortlessly my clients healed. After only 2.5 years, I decided to quit doing massage and opened up a Bowen Clinic.
During this time, a more profound gift started to reveal itself. Essentially I started “seeing” into people and could access where they were holding energy blocks. My intuitive gift became stronger and stronger with time and I learned to trust it. The more I started allowing this part of me, the more spiritual messages would come through during sessions. I started helping people heal at a deeper level by addressing old wounds, trauma and repressed emotions. I began helping my clients connect to their soul purpose, become more conscious, and opening doors to a more aligned path. Before I knew it, my practice doubled in size and I started getting referrals from other physicians and chiropractors.
Then years later, I went through my own healing crisis. I was having massive pain from a left hip injury/pregnancy. I wasn’t making progress and was getting frustrated from the pain and mobility issues. I had heard about the John Barnes Myofascial release technique and decided to try it. Like Bowen, I was so impressed with the results, I decided to train in myofascial release. I also discovered Restorative Exercise Method during that time to help rehab my hip. Restorative exercise helped me see how much my lifestyle was affecting my overall health hip problems. After finally getting relief from years of hip pain, I studied with Katy Bowman to become a Restorative Exercise Specialist.
My work has continued to evolve into what it is today. I’ve been on a continued quest for understanding the human body and it’s potential. I’ve studied with a wide variety of teachers from all over the globe ranging from mysticism and yoga to biomechanics. I became Certified as a Master Trauma Practitioner in 2022 and have integrated more somatic and energy release techniques into my work.
Having this background and spectrum of experience is something unique that I bring to my practice. I’ve been able to create a therapeutic setting that offers healing on both the physical and energetic realm allowing my clients to feel nurtured and cared for at a soul level. It’s been a blessing to be that source of love and acknowledgement in my client’s lives.
I’m thankful to call Austin my home. This town has been a blessing in so many ways. I love to travel, especially anywhere near the ocean. I’m most thankful for my two kids who amaze me everyday.
